"I am writing to say that last night's 'Date on Plate' was one of the best I have attended. The food (every course!) was excellent and I am delighted that I can now add sea bass to my repertoire of fish cooking, as well as a quite delicious soufflé.
The mix of people was such that we all seemed to gel and the conversation flowed freely around the dining table. I have always enjoyed DoaP evenings for the opportunity to meet like-minded young people in a relaxed environment where we are learning something new together - always a conducive way to get to know someone. Whether or not the evening leads to a successful date or two is almost a bonus - although I shall certainly be taking advantage of the contact details on this occasion!
I am not surprised that you have no competition worth mentioning because no one can combine your cooking talents, teaching and hosting skills with what must be a pretty demanding database of 'do's, don'ts and won'ts' built up over many years!
The fact that you (quite rightly) had to kick us all out at 11pm is a self-evident tribute to success of the evening.
