Improve your social life and your cooking skills!  Date On A Plate is a great new concept in dating and a tasty way to meet new people.

Six men and six women have fun while learning to cook a three course meal from scratch under the expert tuition of Denise Phillips, the noted Jewish Chef and Food Writer.

The evening starts with a glass of Champagne and a “get to know” your fellow guests. Then the preparation and cooking commences when I teach you new ways with food and we cook our meal. You will then enjoy the meal that you have created – along with fine wines and good company.

Age groups and individuals are matched wherever possible. The evening costs £60 including tuition, recipe, all food and drink.

Some Testimonials from recent attendees

"I am writing to say that last night's 'Date on Plate' was one of the best I have attended. The food (every course!) was excellent and I am delighted that I can now add sea bass to my repertoire of fish cooking, as well as a quite delicious soufflé."

"The mix of people was such that we all seemed to gel and the conversation flowed freely around the dining table. I have always enjoyed DoaP evenings for the opportunity to meet like-minded young people in a relaxed environment where we are learning something new together - always a conducive way to get to know someone.  Whether or not the evening leads to a successful date or two is almost a bonus - although I shall certainly be taking advantage of the contact details on this occasion!"

"I am not surprised that you have no competition worth mentioning because no one can combine your cooking talents, teaching and hosting skills with what must be a pretty demanding database of 'do's, don'ts and won'ts' built up over many years!  "

"The fact that you (quite rightly) had to kick us all out at 11pm is a self-evident tribute to success of the evening. Thanks again. M"

"Thanks for putting on a really good evening – it’s a great idea, the menu was delightful, the company interesting and I’ll certainly recommend people. Paul T "

"Lovely evening. It was most enjoyable and I must say you have a very smooth operation."

"Hi Denise, Just a brief note to say how much I enjoyed Sunday evening and look forward to a return visit in the future.
Best wishes Tony"

"Thank you for a lovely evening on Sunday. I really enjoyed it as usual and once again you make it seem so easy and accomplished. The food was excellent. Good luck with all your activities. Best wishes Kathryn "

"Just a quick note to thank you very much for a really enjoyable evening last night. Although I was very nervous when I arrived, you immediately made me feel at ease. Everyone was extremely friendly, I had a lot of fun and it was lovely learning new recipes. Thank you once again. With all my very best wishes, Jane"
